elf Smudge Pots

elf Smudge Pots

Hey all! If you haven't seen them yet, elf seems to have released a dupe type product for the Maybelline Color Tattoo. I haven't seen them in the store yet but, I picked up 6 of the 9 shades from the website. They are $2 each and they come in a variety of neutrals and two pops of color, purple and a navy blue.

Let's get to the swatches!!!

Back to Basics is a gold metallic with no glitter.

Crusin' Chic is a taupe metallic with no glitter.

Brownie Points is a warm toned metallic brown with no glitter.

Ocean Bound is a navy blue with silver glitter.

Poppin' Party is a deep eggplant purple with pink glitter.

Pearls of Wisdom is a metallic white with subtle white glitter.

THOUGHTS
I have enjoyed using these, and I think they are a suitable dupe for the Color Tattoos. I have used all of them but Ocean Bound and I have found that they will crease on me if I don't use a primer and top with a shadow. I have very oily lids and I have to do that with all cream shadows so it doesn't bother me. I found that Poppin Party had a very creamy texture and had the least amount of staying power. Overall, worth the price and I will get a lot of use out of them! I will be picking up the last 3 colors soon!

Stay fab!

Coastal Scents Haul Pt. 2- Shadows, Pigments and Glitters

Coastal Scents Eyeshadow Review and Swatches

Hey guys!
If you are checking out this post you have probably checked out my Coastal Scents haul and just want to see the swatches with minimal rambling:) So, here it is:

Pigments, Shadows and Mica Powders

1. Pink Illusion (loose mineral shadow)
2. Elusive Icicle (loose mineral shadow)
3. Blue-Red Chrome (mica powder)
4. Absinthe (loose mineral shadow)
5. Violet Rush (loose mineral shadow)
6. Molten Silver (loose mineral shadow)
7. Whipped Mint (loose mineral shadow)

Thoughts:
I have enjoyed wearing the Pink Illusion shadow with a matte mauve in the crease like the one from the Lorac Pro palette. Also, the Blue-Red Chrome made for a fun colorful eye but, the "red" comes off as more pink than red. Overall, I like the color and texture of these shadows.

1. Mirage Silver (mica pigment)
2. Pearlescent Sparkling Gold (mica pigment)
3. Porcelain Pear (loose mineral shadow)
4. Lilac Mist (loose mineral shadow)
5.Lavish Lavender (loose mineral shadow)

Thoughts:
I LOVE the two pigments! I have worn them both in a subtle and dramatic way and they look great. The texture is really nice for a sparkling pigment and you can really build them up for a concentrated application. I have not played with the other shadows enough to have a defnite opinion but, I like the colors and the texture is nice.

Hot Pots:

1. Dreamcicle
2.Victorian Ruby
3. Maroon Berry
4.Peachy Copper
5. Sun Worshiper
6. Reef Pink
7. Sunbeam
8.Reef Blue
9. Edgy Eggplant
10. Chocolate Berry

Thoughts:
These are AMAZING!! Smooth, creamy, blendable, pigmented and the price is fab. I have nothing but good things to say about the ones I picked up! I can't wait to get more!

 Bronzer:

Thoughts: This was the most disappointing because it's too shimmery for my taste. With that said, the color is nice and it's easy to blend. I am still going to try and use it a few times to see what I can do with it.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase and I'm glad I took a chance and tried a variety of the line. Definitely check it out because for the price you can't go wrong!

Lorac Tutorial Series: Face Tutorial- Review

The Basics: This is a 5pc kit with all full size products. The kit includes: Front of the line Pro liquid liner in black, Multiplex 3D lashes mascara, blush in Soul, Couture Shine lipgloss in Trend Setter, and a Starry-Eyed baked eyeshadow trio in LORACstar. I purchased this kit at ULTA for $39.

First impression- The colors of the shadows are BEAUTIFUL! All three of the shadows are shimmery shades which I was not fond of to make a complete eye look but, I was willing to give it a try.
The blush is a gorgeous neutral mauve color with no glitter which is a plus for me.
The liner has great pigmentation and staying power.
the mascara has a really nice wand and the product did not clump my lashes together and gave them nice length and fullness.
The gloss was the most disappointing to me because it has a frost to it which I do not like. That said, I would still use it to lightly top off a lipstick.

The kit comes with an insert book that gives you two looks to try, one day and one night.
This is the day look EXACTLY as it is written-

Final thoughts- I believe this kit is worth the price and a great way to try a variety of products from the brand. If you are looking for a way to try a few different LORAC products than this is definitely the kit for you!

Stay fab!
